We utilize a training method called Tandem Progression which many drop zones in the US have adopted to teach people to start skydiving. This method combines the best of the Tandem jump method with that of the AFF method. This means that you get trained to your highest level of confidence prior to being put in a position in which you can do yourself harm. While learning by this method, you perform your first three skydives as a tandem. On each skydive, your instructor provides you a little bit more information and gives you a little bit more responsibility...instead of just shoving everything onto you at once. Once your tandem jumps are completed, and you and your instructor are confident in your ability to safely land the canopy, you will be transitioned to the AFF style of learning. With this method, you will have your own parachute on, and your instructor will also wear his own parachute. You will exit the airplane with your instructor firmly holding onto you. He will monitor you in freefall, ensure you deploy your parachute, and then will meet you on the ground as you land safely. You will conduct a total of 6 AFF jumps with your instructor to build your confidence and skills. After performing a total of 25 jumps you are then eligible for your A license. YOU'RE NOW A SKYDIVER!!!
